Hot New Diet

A new way to control your appetite to avoid overeating and weight gain.

Obesity has reached epidemic proportions not only in America but globally. More than 1 billion adults are overweight and at least 300 million of them are clinically obese. One of the most obvious causes of obesity is overeating. Most of us are overeating for a hundred different reasons, such as boredom, stress and frustrations.
In the last few years scientists have found a new way to prevent overeating and ultimately help lose weight. You are probably thinking that I am talking about a new diet pill? Wrong! I am talking about Hot Sauce! Don’t believe it – continue reading. According to the studies, hot pepper stimulates nerves in the mouth and stomach, which makes people feel satisfied with less food. In 2005, Dutch researchers gave 24 men and women hot red pepper either dissolved in tomato juice or as capsules swallowed with tomato juice, or a placebo, 30 minutes before meals. The results demonstrated that subjects ate 10 to 16% less after consuming red pepper than after taking the placebo.
Another article that appeared in Men’s Health, explains the reason why hot sauce could help you torch fat.
“The study conducted by Australian scientists determined that overweight people are more likely to burn blubber after consuming a meal that contains chili peppers than after one that isn’t packing heat. That’s because study participants’ levels of insulin–a hormone that signals your body to store fat–were 32 percent lower following the spicy meal. Capsaicin, the chemical that makes chili peppers hot, may improve the liver’s ability to clear insulin from the bloodstream after a meal, says study author Madeleine J. Ball, M.D.” Dr. Spiro Antoniades, is living proof that hot sauce can help people lose weight, He even wrote a book sharing his “Hot Sauce Diet” and explaining how it helped him lose 70 pounds. In his book Dr. Antoniades outlines why hot sauce works to advance weight loss:

  1. It’s an appetite suppressant.
  2. It makes you thirsty, which makes you drink more water and therefore eat less.
  3. Hot sauce is toxic and can make your face flush and feel uncomfortable. This discomfort creates a situation of aversive conditioning.
